Luke - I 've done this same thing using shuffle. It always amazes me how differently I hear songs when in a different setting. Songs really bring out different features other songs when rubbed up against each other in unexpected ways. Also, I'll hear album tracks that I never paid any mind to - and I won't even know where they come from at times - but suddenly I appreciate them.

My encounter with a bear, while not as eventful as yours Luke, was while I was staying in a First Nation's reservation on Vancouver Island. They (I assume there was more than one, it sounded like it) padded through the campsite and had a little nose around the bins. The amazing thing was the morning after, when we had woken up and went to have a stroll on the beach, was the bears on the beach, playing in the surf. I only wish I'd of had my camera with me, black bears playing on the beach would won me an award or the like and made a brilliant poster or photo.

Interesting, your comments on writing everything / too much down. I've only recently realised that one of the obstacles to enjoying my writing was crystallising it to early by recording it on paper when in fact my memory, or my subconscious, if I forget, does a much better job of weeding out good ideas from bad and working on the good in my sleep, for example. I have stopped writing down a new idea and instead decided to remember it before going to bed. I often wake up with the answer.
